Terms of Service

Last updated: March 21, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Homesteady (the “Service”), operated by Boost Innovation (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions, you may not access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Homesteady is a web-based home maintenance scheduling and tracking platform. The Service generates personalized maintenance schedules based on property details, assessment responses, local climate data, and proprietary algorithms including the SteadyScore™ system. The Service is provided on a freemium basis with optional paid subscription tiers.

3. Intellectual Property

The Service, including all content, features, algorithms, designs, SteadyScore™ scoring methodology, branding, software code, and documentation, is the exclusive property of Boost Innovation and is protected by Canadian and international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

Homesteady™, SteadyScore™, the Homesteady logo, and all related names, marks, and slogans are trademarks of Boost Innovation. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any trademarks without prior written consent.

4. User Accounts

To use the Service, you must create an account with accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

5. User Content and Data

You retain ownership of property-specific data you provide (addresses, assessment answers, notes, photos). However, by using the Service, you grant Boost Innovation a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, process, store, and analyze your data for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.

Aggregated, anonymized data derived from user activity may be used by Boost Innovation for analytics, research, product improvement, and commercial purposes without restriction.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

Paid subscriptions are billed on a monthly recurring basis via Stripe. Prices are listed in Canadian Dollars (CAD) unless otherwise noted. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days’ written notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Homesteady provides general home maintenance guidance and scheduling, not professional home inspection, contractor, or engineering services. Task recommendations are informational only.

We do not guarantee that following the maintenance schedule will prevent all home issues. Always consult qualified professionals for structural, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC concerns.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Boost Innovation and its directors, employees, partners, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to property damage, loss of data, or business interruption.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or algorithms of the Service; (b) use automated systems to scrape or mine data from the Service; (c) resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service; (d) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (e) attempt to bypass subscription limits or security measures.

10. Contractor Marketplace

Homesteady operates an online marketplace (“Contractor Marketplace”) that connects homeowners with independent contractors. Homesteady acts solely as an intermediary and is not a party to any agreements, contracts, or arrangements made between homeowners and contractors through the platform.

Homesteady does not employ, endorse, recommend, or guarantee any contractor listed on the platform. All contractors are independent businesses operating under their own licences, insurance, and professional standards. Any contract for services is entered into directly between the homeowner and the contractor, and Homesteady bears no responsibility for the terms, execution, or outcome of such agreements.

11. Contractor Credential Verification

Contractors using the platform may upload credentials including journeyman tickets, trade licences, insurance certificates, and professional certifications. Homesteady reviews uploaded credentials for basic authenticity; however, “Verified” or “Approved” badges displayed on contractor profiles do not constitute professional certification, endorsement, or warranty of any kind.

Homeowners are solely responsible for conducting their own due diligence before hiring any contractor, including verifying licences, insurance coverage, references, and qualifications independently. Homesteady and Boost Innovation make no guarantees regarding the validity, currency, or accuracy of any credentials uploaded by contractors.

12. Marketplace Liability Limitations

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Boost Innovation, its directors, employees, partners, and affiliates shall not be liable for: (a) the quality, timeliness, or completeness of any work performed by contractors; (b) the accuracy of any information, credentials, or representations made by contractors; (c) any disputes between homeowners and contractors; (d) property damage, personal injury, or financial loss arising from contractor work arranged through the platform; (e) tasks not completed by homeowners who relied on the platform for scheduling guidance.

Both homeowners and contractors agree to indemnify and hold harmless Boost Innovation and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from their use of the Contractor Marketplace, any agreements entered into through the platform, or any breach of these Terms.

The platform provides home maintenance guidance and contractor discovery tools only. Homesteady does not provide professional home inspection, engineering, or contracting services.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections regarding intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Calgary, Alberta.

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
